Back by popular demand, it’s Saturday Night Live at the Library! We’ll be open until 2300 this Saturday, March 6.
No reruns, opening monologue or music guests, just a good place to study and finish your work. Exactly what you need right now, before spring furlough.
We’ll also be open until 2300 on the last three Saturdays in April – the 10th, 17th, and 24th.

Saturday evening, November 14, Preston Library will be open until 2300 for its first “Saturday Night Live at the Library”.
No, we won’t be showing reruns, but we hope cadets will be here to study, finish up projects and research, and generally keep their heads above water as the semester draws to a close.
The library will also be open until 2300 on December 5th and 12th.

Thurs – 23 July: 0800 – 0200
Fri – 24 July: 0800 – 1630

Preston Library has expanded hours of operation for the summer.
In past summers, the library has been open only until 10pm each week night and has been closed every weekend. This summer, we have added an extra hour to each weeknight, closing Monday through Thursday at 11pm. We have also added hours on Saturday afternoons and Sunday evenings.
Summer hours are as follows:
Mondays – Thursdays: 0800 – 2300
Fridays: 0800 – 1630
Saturdays: 1200 – 1700
Sundays: 1900 – 2300
Exceptions for holiday weekends:
Sat, May 23 – Mon, May 25: CLOSED for Memorial Day weekend
Fri, Jul 3 – Sun, Jul 5: CLOSED for Fourth of July weekend
We will also be open until 2am for exam study on Wednesday and Thursday nights, June 17 and 18.
We have printed a summer hours bookmark, which is available at the circulation desk. Please ask for one next time you are in the building.

Preston Library will be open this Saturday evening, April 11, until 2200.
This extension of hours is an experiment, since we have had several requests from cadets for additional Saturday evening hours. If we can arrange staffing, we plan to be open for the next four Saturday evenings, which will take us through the end of the exam period.
We will keep track of how many people come in, and this will help us decide whether to continue these hours in the fall. There is always a cost/benefit balance to be considered.
If you would like us to continue being open on Saturday evenings, please let us know, but more importantly, vote with your feet and use the building!

Field Training Exercises for the VMI corps of cadets will take place this Friday, 3 April, through Tuesday, 7 April.
While the cadets are otherwise engaged the library will be operating on shortened hours:

Spring Break officially ends at 2200 this evening which means that Preston Library is resuming its regular hours of operation.

Here at VMI Spring Furlough starts tomorrow at Close of Academic Duty (4:30pm).
While the Cadets are away, the library will be operating under shortened hours.
